Gifting Brands, the innovative fashion platform that combines style with philanthropy, will hold a first-of-its-kind online charity auction Nov. 20-28 to benefit various nonprofit organizations that help women and children in need. Jeannie Barsam, the founder and CEO of Gifting Brands and a Women in Retail Leadership Circle member, said the auction will allow people to bid on items such as fine jewelry, fashion jewelry, beauty products, accessories, vacation packages, and more. All proceeds will go to various charitable organizations hand picked by Barsam, whose goal is to raise $100,000 or more.
“Whatever we raise is truly going back to making a difference, to helping the most vulnerable,” Barsam said. The charities receiving the donations include The Family Place, charity: water, A Better Chance, Consider the Lily, Fashion Impact Fund, W. Ray Johnson Foundation, Together We Thrive, 4word, and Boundless Foundation.
Gifting Brands partners with brands in the fashion industry, with a mission that transcends trends and labels. The platform boasts a unique approach to fashion retailing, where 100 percent of its profits are dedicated to charitable initiatives, primarily benefiting women and children. Through partnerships with brands such as Baccarat, Talbots, Ann Taylor Loft, Cabana Life, Signet Corp., Rocksbox, and many more, Gifting Brands seamlessly connects shoppers with quality fashion and a profound sense of purpose.
Barsam founded Gifting Brands following a retail career that included leadership positions at Zales, Michaels, Talbots and Charlotte Russe. She saw firsthand what happened to excess inventory, and she knew there was an alternative to trashing excess products.
“I just knew that there had to be a way to make a difference with that inventory,” she said.
The Gifting Brands charity auction will include items or gift cards from Dior, Saint Laurent, Sally Beauty, Talbots, Aeropostale, Forever 21, Lucky Brand, Eddie Bauer, Kay Jewelers, Loft, Brooks Brothers, Baccarat, and more. Bidding is open to all and begins Nov. 20.
