ROLE SUMMARY:
We’re looking for a Director of Brand Development to lead the future brand and innovation strategies across our bathroom portfolio. This person must have a knack for translating consumer insights into compelling brand and product positioning. They’ll partner with Product Development and Consumer Insights team to develop & deliver a rapidly expanding grooming portfolio and lead DSC into the future of owning the bathroom.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Brand Strategy and Positioning

  • Develop brand positioning across new categories
  • Enhance and manage current portfolio through consumer-driven insights, competitive understanding, brand positioning and the DSC business portfolio
  • Partner with creative teams to develop full brand identities, characters, and tonality across all grooming brands.
  • Develop tools to maintain brand identity and consistency

Innovation Strategy and Planning

  • Analyze and prioritize innovation plan based on brand and financial impacts
  • Lead multi-functional teams to deliver entire DSC product portfolio through concept, development, and launch to market

Brand Architecture and Concept Development

  • Identify key need states across categories and develop ideal category portfolio assortment to maximize profitability and brand positioning
  • Build product concepts from consumer insights, key messages, and reasons to believe and partners with product development to bring them to life in formulation
  • Concept Testing - develop and execute protocols to ensure positioning, pricing, and claims are optimized for product launches
  • Claims and Regulatory strategy - develop claims strategy by brand and product launch to ensure benefits and RTB’s are optimized. Partner with legal to the team to ensure claims support and regulatory needs are met

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8-10 years of B2C/ CPG brand management experience
  • Proven strategic thinker
  • Experience creating a physical product innovation roadmap from scratch
  • Extensive experience launching physical products in a stage-gate process
  • Highly collaborative and capable to lead and inspire a multi-functional team
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, high-energy environment that requires the ability to think strategically, while also getting in the weeds
