Director, Digital Analytics

The Director of Digital Analytics will be a player-coach who will spearhead analytics and reporting efforts within our Digital business. Reporting to the SVP, Digital this position ensures the necessary key performance data is captured and provides actionable insights to drive improvement across site experience and digital marketing. They will identify trends and opportunities based on observed online behaviors, ensuring timely and regular sharing of analyses to help drive ongoing site improvements, improved marketing ROI, and a best-in-class user experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own the vision for what digital analytics should look like at Five Below
  • Develop a framework and implement models for digital media measurement, multi-attribution modeling and marketing mix modeling
  • Develop insights and KPIs to optimize our acquisition & retention efforts across a variety of digital marketing tactics
  • Drive our site & app analytics instrumentation strategy and execute it end-to-end; leveraging a deep understanding of JS and server and client-side integrations
  • Improve our test & learn culture by overseeing experiment design and providing advanced analytical support for A/B testing efforts to optimize the consumer journey on across our site & app
  • In partnership with Digital Merchandising & Marketing, provides assessment to help optimize site content initiatives
  • Attract, develop, and retain a talented team and ensure people, process and tools are aligned and integrated to deliver actionable insights to the business
  • Evaluate and implement new tools to better understand the Five Below customer and customer experience across our Digital ecosystem

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Data Science or Analytics mostly spent with B-to-C businesses. Background should include significant analytics experience working with Digital Marketing & Product teams
  • Experience measuring, mining, and generating insights from digital customer engagement data within all digital channels, including website, app, paid media, social media, and email campaign data sets
  • Experience in retail marketing analytics, uncovering insights, and providing strategy to optimize marketing campaigns (e.g., Google Search, Google Shopping, Facebook, Pinterest, Criteo, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of digital platforms and technologies and front end web development frameworks (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Proficiency in SQL or similar experience analyzing large structured and unstructured datasets
  • Deep expertise in using web analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics to do funnel analysis and measure browsing activity
  • Ability to demystify measurement and translate data to consumable, relatable stories
  • Proven track record of collaboration with non-Analytics partners in a fast-paced environment
  • BA/BS with a background in business, economics, mathematics, finance, engineering or statistics
