Director, Marketing Operations

The primary purpose of this position is to lead, monitor, and direct the advertising and marketing operations functions including the efficient and effective production and execution/distribution of our marketing assets including promotional and marketing support (circular, signage, etc.), driving the on-time and accurate flow of marketing programs through the workflow process (from brief entry through to execution), and partner with the creative, marketing, and Cx teams in the development of marketing programs that drive awareness, conversion, and customer and sales growth.  This role will oversee the end-to-end workflow process and tools for marketing and advertising.

The Director of Marketing Operations will lead a team comprised of both Rite Aid and agency resources, and will ensure the team is comprised of effective, motivated and highly accountable associates who work together seamlessly. The role will be a strong partner to our pharmacy and front end operations leaders to ensure clear communication of programs and ensure a constant feedback loop for continuous improvement.  Frequent independent judgments are essential for this role. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid's brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and direct weekly promotional advertising (digital and online circular) activities to include design, production and media placement with our internal team and agencies.
  • Oversee the in-store communication program (signage, etc.), ensuring that the proper communication program is in place, on time, in every store.  Continually improve effectiveness and efficiency of our processes for in-store communication. Provide guidance to, and optimize the performance of, our internal associates and agency partners, ensuring that we have the right mix of talent on the team, that the agencies are highly accountable, and that the agency and internal team is working seamlessly and efficiently.  Ensure that the proper KPIs are in place and measured ongoing as performance indicators for the team.
  • Optimize marketing spend across the marketing budget, ensuring effective utilization of the marketing budget to drive return on ad spend. This includes, but is not limited to, optimizing the circular spend, to continue the migration from print to digital marketing.
  • Oversee the end to end workflow process and supporting systems to ensure that marketing communication programs are tracking to established timelines.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the business environment, competitors, customers, market trends and implications to the business.  Ensuring that Rite Aid has the right competitive tracking tools in place to evaluate marketing / advertising programming of our competition, and that information is used in our planning.

Experience / Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in Retail Advertising/Print Management required.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS)  Business, Advertising, or Marketing required.
