Senior Marketing Manager, Gift Card Program

The Senior Marketing Manager of Gift Card is responsible for managing the strategy and owning results of gift card sales across Nordstrom’s owned distribution channels (Nordstrom,, Nordstrom Rack, and Nordstrom’s external distribution channels, including 3rd Party (e.g., grocery, online retail) and Business-to-Business (e.g., loyalty programs, employee incentives). This role also leads the development and strategy of offers that leverage promotional gift card to drive customer behaviors, engagement, and sales. Finally, the Senior Manager supports the production of all Nordstrom gift card products across all sales channels. This is a unique opportunity to drive business performance through balance of strategy, program management, vendor management and marketing skillsets. This Senior Manager leads a team of three to deliver execution of sales distribution and marketing strategy set forth by the Senior Manager.

A day in the life…

  • Champion value of the gift card program internally, and establish program strategy to drive gift card sales and usage across Nordstrom’s owned and external distribution channels in support of company objectives and program / marketing KPIs
  • Build effective marketing promotions in support of company strategy to drive incremental business and customer value; partner with internal stakeholders to develop offers in support of their business objectives
  • Negotiate partner contracts and manage vendors to deliver on services to fulfill key program objectives and, inclusive but not limited to managing delivery of annual sales and marketing plan; hosting Quarterly Business Reviews with account team; and supporting bi-annual supplier scorecard assessments
  • Support team in management of end-to-end lifecycle of gift card production across internal and external stakeholders; lead team to set and analyze optimal production and replenishment thresholds to manage inventory
  • Partner with gift card operations team and product management and technology to build capabilities that deliver value through increased sales, cost efficiencies, and enhanced customer experience
  • Measure, analyze and report business performance; develop and share insights to drive business growth; manage sales and marketing budget for business
  • Hire, lead and develop an effective team of three: one Program Manager and two Account Managers

You own this if you have…

  • 5 years proven business management driving marketing and sales outcomes with 2+ years experience managing direct reports
  • Demonstrated success in growing both new and mature programs with strong understanding of levers to drive program growth and manage to expense
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large cross-functional teams (across Marketing, PR, salespeople, customer care, business support functions, etc.) to align and deliver on set business objectives
  • Experience managing vendors, inclusive of onboarding and developing vendor relationships and negotiating favorable terms
  • Excellence in strategic planning, problem-solving, analytics and written and verbal communication
  • Experience in Gift Card and/or card production strongly preferred
  • Experience in third party vendor management a plus
  • Ability to create structure in ambiguity and manage complexity
  • MBA preferred
