Lesley Jane Seymour is a media entrepreneur and former editor of magazines such as YM, Marie Claire and, most recently, More. She’s created a following and a community. After losing her job when More closed down earlier this year, Seymour saw just how impactful her community of women could be.
In this interview from the Pennsylvania Conference for Women earlier this month, Seymour talks about her new endeavor called Kindred, an online community for sophisticated women looking to learn, form new friendships and make a difference in the world. Seymour also talks about how social media helped her bounce back after losing a job, Michelle Obama’s good wishes and how having a “second plan” is something all women should have — regardless of job title or tenure.
