Laura Ravo, a Women in Retail Leadership Circle member, joined the executive team of Jane.com as its new chief operating officer, the e-commerce retailer announced on Aug. 9.
Jane.com, a curated boutique marketplace featuring the latest in fashion trends, accessories, home décor, children’s clothing and more, is undergoing a transformation from a deals platform to a boutique marketplace destination. With that transformation comes an entirely new tech stack and a restructuring of the C-suite, to now include Ravo. The company was founded in 2011 and has generated more than $1 billion in sales to date.
Ravo most recently served as the chief operating officer of Strand Bookstore in New York City. She also held the positions of vice president and head of retail at The Body Shop, and vice president, head of store operations at Oakley. Ravo will be joined at Jane.com by Krista Kochivar, the company’s new chief financial officer. Jane.com’s restructuring of its executive suite also includes the recent addition of new Chief Technology Officer David John Smith and Chief Marketing Officer JP Knab.
Ravo will lead the growth of Jane’s marketplace ecosystem, including marketplace operations, merchandising, seller acquisition and onboarding, business operations and strategy, channel partnership, and customer experience.
“Laura’s role will help us to deliver world-class customer experiences and catapult Jane as the go-to boutique marketplace for sellers and customers,” Jane CEO Joana McKenna said in a company press release. “Laura is well known and highly regarded in the retail industry, and for good reason. She has delivered breakthrough business impact throughout her career while fostering a positive culture. I know she will do the same at Jane!”
