Happy 2023, Women in Retail Leadership Circle! I hope your holidays were joyful and relaxing.

I love the energy and optimism the New Year brings — I feel it when I pop into my local deli and when I scroll LinkedIn. I don’t get the sense everyone is excited to change; rather they’re just happy to live, to have another year to try again at whatever it is they seek out of their professional and personal lives, and, well, existence.

Now let me delve into the meaning of life … just kidding. Most of us are back from a deserved, hopefully long break and still have a lot of coffee (I mean emails!) to catch up on. Instead, I’ll provide a few concrete ways Women in Retail Leadership Circle members can improve themselves in 2023:

  • Join a WIRLC peer group call and speak about something you’re passionate about or ask a question, even (especially) if that’s not something you normally would do.
  • Contact a member via our membership directory and set up an informal call, which can lead to new job opportunities and/or industry knowledge.
  • Attend a WIRLC On the Road regional event. Locations and dates will be announced soon and registration is discounted for members.
  • Register for the Women in Retail Leadership Summit at a discounted rate. The annual Summit provides attendees with access to informational and inspiring content, valuable networking with the top women leaders in the industry, fun activities, among other surprises.
