May is Mental Health Awareness Month, which was started in 1949 by the Mental Health America (MHA) organization (then known as the National Association for Mental Health) to raise awareness and educate the public about mental illness and reduce the stigma surrounding it.
The mission of Mental Health Awareness Month is to put a spotlight on the importance of maintaining mental well-being. It also encourages people to seek help for mental health challenges. In addition, it inspires organizations and companies to focus on their employees’ mental health, with some offering “mental health” days during the month and others offering mental health screenings or activities on the topic.
Of course, the best way to maintain mental well-being at work is to have a great working environment and culture. This means surrounding yourself with a cohesive team whose members lift each other up and all work towards the same goal. That’s why we’re thrilled to be hosting a Virtual Workshop on how to build the trust needed to create a cohesive. The workshop will take place on May 10 at 12 p.m. EDT (and notably during Mental Health Awareness Month).
The session, “How to Build Trust to Create a Cohesive Team,” will be led by Dr. Quendrida Whitmore. Leveraging her “High-Performance Team” model, Whitmore will help attendees identify areas to improve teamwork as well as offer solutions that help enhance trust, communication, alignment and results to build a high-performing team! Ultimately, the workshop will help in your mission to create a team of mentally healthy employees. This session will be applicable to women who lead remote, in-person and hybrid teams.
Virtual Workshops are free for Women in Retail Leadership Circle members and $79 for nonmembers. You can register here.
“See” you next week!
