We are about to celebrate a day dedicated to giving thanks — Thanksgiving — and I could not be more thankful for the many treasures in my life. They include a happy and healthy family; a fun and inspiring work environment; a leader with a growth mindset who is always working to help us grow as professionals; fantastic friends and colleagues in the retail industry; and a group of girlfriends who I still belly laugh with (hello BravoCon!).
I’m also very thankful for the wonderful people who help make Women in Retail Leadership Circle (WIRLC) such a great community. They include the following:
- all of our Inner Circle newsletter subscribers (that would be you all!) for being such loyal readers and regularly sharing your great content ideas with us;
- our members, for all of your inspiring stories and for being so open and vulnerable and brave when sharing your thoughts with us on our peer calls and in conversations;
- our incredible WIRLC board of advisors, who are so generous with their time, advice and support;
- the countless number of speakers, coaches and moderators at our events who have shared so much wisdom and insight over the years;
- our fabulous sponsor partners who understand WIRLC’s mission and have supported our community year-round; and
- the entire WIRLC team, whom I’m proud to call colleagues and friends.
While I’m excited about Thanksgiving (it’s one of my favorite holidays), this year is a little different. It’s impaired by the news of the hardships people are experiencing all over the world. I think this year especially, it’s important for us to use Thanksgiving as an opportunity to focus on those who are less fortunate as well as reflect on all the good fortune in our lives and what we are grateful for.
How are you spending Thanksgiving this year? Please drop me a note at mcampanelli@napco.com. I would love to hear from you.
Happy Thanksgiving!
