The Women in Retail Leadership Circle team is lucky enough to learn more about the women in our community through member spotlight articles and videos shared in the newsletter most weeks. We enjoy learning everything from how these impressive women achieve their personal and professional goals to what they’re reading these days. Each spotlight is packed with personal stories, authentic insights and fun facts.

Nadina Guglielmetti, vice president and general manager of marketing at The Vitamin Shoppe, describes herself in a single sentence as an “open, honest and driven individual who loves supporting women achieve success.” The Ritz-Carlton’s Director of Retail Nailah Nash says that she’s a leader who is passionate about people and tenacious about results.

Diane Wang, founder, chairperson, and CEO at DHgate Group, shared recommendations for teams to be more productive and happy. “As a leader, you must instill in your team that the outcome of our work is not as simple as success and failure. We need a more nuanced approach that allows us to learn and grow as a team and as individuals. We need to ‘dare to fail.’ We can both fail in some areas and succeed in others. Failure is part of success and doesn’t need to be seen as negative.”

Recharging in nature or through exercise are common themes, but Jennifer Masie, group vice president of CosmoProf, loves to organize. “I can spend hours cleaning out a closet, garage, office, you name it,” she says.

In response to the question, “What’s the most important thing people should know about you?” Chela Gage, senior vice president of talent and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging at Reformation, shows her resiliency. “I grew up in foster care, and so between the ages of seven to 17, I lived in 10 family homes and four group homes. I know that if I overcame 14 different families in 10 years, I can overcome anything.”

Authenticity, passion, and transparency are values that JCPenney Vice President of Customer Marketing Kendra Horne tries to lead with every day.
