During a panel at the 2025 Women in Retail Leadership Summit, four retail and brand c-suite executives were asked to identify the number one skill or trait that separates high-achievers from everyone else. The top response? Curiosity.
In this clip from the discussion, two panelists Stacy Bowe, president of HSN brand and U.S. merchandising at QVC Group, and Michelle Wlazlo, brand CEO for JCPenney at Catalyst Brands, share their thoughts with moderator Karyn Schoenbart, co-founder and managing director, Duo Partners.
Bowe explains why she values curiosity and continuous learning, and Wlazlo adds that accountability when making mistakes is essential.
Other panelists included Linda Hubbard, president and CEO, Carhartt and board member, Hibbett, Barton Malow Enterprises, Federal Reserve Board of Chicago, and Stephanie Pugliese, president and CEO, Duluth Trading Co. and board member, Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurants and Fortune Brands Innovations.
