“Where could you show more vulnerability?” Lori Singer, president of Parlux, posed this question to attendees of the 2025 Women in Retail On the Road: New York City event, held Oct. 28. “Where could you trust your team or let yourself be wrong to unlock possibilities that you can’t achieve alone?”

Singer spoke during an inspiring series of concise TED Talks-style presentations and shared a personal story on leading through life’s toughest moments. In this clip from her session, she discusses the positive outcomes that can happen when a leader shows vulnerability. Singer shared an example from a recent project — Parlux’s launch of Paris Hilton’s latest fragrance line.

“ I want to be wrong, because it means being honest about what you don’t know and being brave enough to let others challenge you,” Singer told the audience. “And when I’m wrong, that means my team’s best ideas have won.”
