At a moment in everyone’s career, there will be an opportunity to take an alternative path. This video clip, which is from a panel discussion at last month’s WIRLC: On the Road | San Francisco event, addresses that moment of decision. The discussion was moderated by Cindy Solomon, founder, CEO and president of Courageous Leadership Institute, and included:
- Shilpa Shah, co-founder and chief experience officer, Cuyana;
- Aimée Lapic, CEO, Hanna Andersson;
- Erica Brown, president of retail, Peet’s Coffee; and
- Allison Vigil, president, Rocksbox.
When discussing career “pivot points,” Shah shared her transition from Disney and how she was humbled throughout the process. However, she was eager to learn throughout the process, which helped position her for future career success.
“I was building a toolbox rather than a résumé,” Shah expressed.
