Mother’s Day may still be a few months away, but the National Mother’s Day Committee is preparing to honor four exceptional female retail executives at the 39th Annual Outstanding Mother Awards. Jane Hertzmark Hudis, group president of The Estee Lauder Companies; Kate Oldham, senior vice president, general merchandise manager of beauty, lingerie and swim at Saks Fifth Avenue; Judy Schmeling, president of Cornerstone Brands and COO of HSN, Inc.; and Kendra Scott, CEO and founder of Kendra Scott, LLC, will all be honored for the outstanding jobs as mothers at a luncheon on May 8 at The Pierre Hotel in New York City.
The annual ceremony recognizes women leaders who balance highly successful careers with the daily demands and rewards of motherhood. Past honorees have included Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Meryl Streep, Katie Couric, Caroline Kennedy and Vera Wang.
“We’re honored to celebrate such inspirational female role models at the 2017 Outstanding Mother Awards,” said Laurie Dowley, chairman of the National Mother’s Day Committee. “These hard-working women are proof that maintaining a balance — both professionally and at home — is not only possible, but can lead to remarkable success.”
Joanna Coles, chief content officer of Hearst Magazines and a 2015 Outstanding Mother Award honoree, will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies. Proceeds from the luncheon will benefit Save the Children’s U.S. programs.
