Career transitions can feel uncertain, especially in a hiring market that has changed significantly in just a few years. But for executive women, the next opportunity is rarely determined by a resume alone. It’s shaped by reputation, relationships, visibility, and the confidence to tell a compelling leadership story. That is why I hope you will join us for Women in Retail Leadership Circle’s July Next Chapter Session, “Beyond the Resume: Navigating Career Transitions in Today’s Market,” scheduled for July 31 at noon ET.
The monthly Next Chapter Series is designed for WIRLC members who are between roles, actively exploring new opportunities, considering a future move, or simply preparing for what’s ahead. The July session will offer an executive-search perspective on today’s leadership market, and will be led by Emily Plahanski, managing director at Stanton Chase Baltimore and Stanton Chase’s regional sector leader for consumer products and services in North America. With more than a decade of executive search consulting and leadership experience, Emily advises organizations and senior leaders across the consumer products, technology, and private equity sectors.
The session will dive into how organizations are making hiring decisions, what recruiters and hiring leaders truly look for, and how you can build career momentum before an application is ever submitted. Attendees will also have the opportunity to connect with fellow Women in Retail Leadership Circle members during a peer mastermind and open discussion. We encourage attendees to bring their questions, challenges and experiences. Doing so will help them leave with practical ideas, fresh perspectives, and renewed confidence for their next chapter.
Next Chapter Sessions is a members-only virtual series designed to help women navigate career transitions with clarity, confidence and community. Each session combines expert insight with peer discussion in a supportive, judgment-free environment where members can share experiences, exchange ideas, and support one another through periods of professional change and growth.
