Winnie Park, a Women in Retail Leadership Circle advisory board member who has been at the helm of Forever 21 since 2022, was named Five Below’s CEO last week.
Park will move to Philadelphia, where Five Below is based, and serve on the company’s board of directors. Her start date is Dec. 16. She’ll take over for interim CEO Kenneth Bull, who will go back to being chief operations officer. Bull took over as interim CEO in July when CEO Joel Anderson left to run Petco.
At Forever 21, Park helped launch the brand’s omnichannel capabilities, social commerce, and an award-winning metaverse partnership with Roblox. She also expanded product categories beyond women’s apparel to include kid’s, gift, beauty and accessories.
Prior to Forever 21, Park served as CEO of Paper Source. She’s also held senior leadership roles at Duty Free Shoppers, Dockers, and McKinsey & Co. during her three decades in retail. Earlier this year, Park was named to Forbes’ 50 Over 50 list.
“I’m a huge fan of the Five Below brand and its unique ability to connect with and empower teens and pre-teens through an amazing assortment of extreme-value items in a fun shopping environment,” Park said in a press release. “There is enormous opportunity to build on the exciting initiatives that are already underway as we elevate our product, value and experience.”
