Last month at the Women in Retail Leadership Summit, former PepsiCo chairwoman Indra Nooyi took the stage with communications coach Jane Hanson for a candid conversation about leading with compassion, bringing your whole self to work, and performing the job with purpose.
Hanson, an 27-year NBC broadcaster and Emmy award-winning reporter, summarized her conversation with Nooyi in a Forbes article last week, sharing Nooyi’s top tips for becoming a successful leader, including:
- Finding and being a mentor.
- Being ultra-prepared.
- Bringing your whole self to work.
- Thanking your employees (and their parents!).
- Making work personal.
- Focusing on performance with purpose.
