It may still be the lazy, hazy days of summer, but us here at the Women in Retail Leadership Circle (WIRLC) are in big-time planning mode, getting ready for our New York City and San Francisco “Girl Talks” events, taking place on Oct. 3 and Oct. 23, respectively.

For those of you who may not know, WIRLC’s Girl Talks are evening networking and dinner events designed to get you thinking, get you talking and, most of all, help you improve your lives both personally and professionally. At Girl Talks, women retail executives gather with their peers to hear short, passionate presentations (each lasting 15 minutes, with five minutes for audience questions) delivered by powerful women leaders. We’re sure you’ll be inspired by their personal stories as well as gain new insights and ideas on critical areas such as leadership skills, emerging retail technology trends, learning from failure, how to negotiate, and so much more!

We already have two amazing speakers signed up for our New York City event: Miki Racine Berardelli, CEO of  KIDBOX , the first kid’s style box offering premiere brands, significant savings and a mission to clothe 1 million children; and Liza Landsman, president of Jet.com! Both Miki and Liza will have so much to discuss based on their impressive careers.

For example, prior to joining KIDBOX, Miki was president, digital commerce and chief marketing officer, executive vice president at Chico’s FAS. She was responsible the digital commerce businesses and marketing strategies for three distinct brands: Chico’s, White House Black Market, and Soma Intimates. Prior to joining Chico’s FAS, Miki was chief marketing officer at Tory Burch, where she was responsible for global marketing, public relations and digital commerce. Previous to that, Miki was the senior vice president of marketing at Ralph Lauren, where she spent nearly eight years developing and leading multichannel marketing strategy for the fashion brand. Earlier in her career, Miki held positions at Limited Too/Tween Brands, Experian North America and McMillan Associates.

Not to be outdone, Liza has an impressive resume as well. She was recently named the president of Jet.com, and is among other things responsible for leading the online retailer’s management committee. Liza is a member of Wal-Mart’s U.S. e-commerce leadership team (Wal-Mart acquired Jet in August 2016). She was previously Jet’s chief customer officer, responsible for driving growth through marketing, advertising and the smart use of data, and for ensuring that Jet’s end-to-end customer experience is compelling.

Prior to joining Jet, Liza was the chief marketing officer and a member of the executive committee at E*TRADE Financial, where she was responsible for marketing, advertising, and insights and analytic functions, including the evolution of the firm’s consumer-facing brand. She had previously held the position of global head of digital at BlackRock, where she was responsible for the company’s digital marketing strategy and operations. This followed a decade in senior management positions at Citigroup. In addition, Liza has held leadership roles at IBM, Flooz.com and Writers House, Inc.

Make sure to grab your ticket to either (or both!) event today! The cost is $49 for each event for qualified retailers, and free for WIRLC members! (Members, please email me at mcampanelli@napco.com for the discount code!)

I can’t wait to see you this fall!
