Mother’s Day is going to be a little different this year.
While the holiday is usually celebrated with family outings to brunch or mother-daughter spa days, many of these traditions will be postponed until next year as the coronavirus pandemic makes social distancing the new normal.
But this doesn’t mean Mother’s Day 2020 has to be cancelled, however. In fact, for our Inner Circle readers who are moms, it’s more important than ever for you to have a special day. Many of you have been performing at very high “mom” levels this spring, acting as schoolteachers, social directors, counselors, and more, on top of all of your regular mom duties and busy work schedules. And that, combined with the current anxiety everyone is feeling right now, means a great Mother’s Day is in order.
Therefore, even if you can’t go out, please make sure to take some time for yourself on Sunday. Have a mimosa, take a long bath, spend time in bed reading that book you’ve been meaning to pick up and, of course, spend quality, fun time with your kids!
I’ll be celebrating with my husband and two teenagers this year, and am planning to do all of the above and more (or should I say less!). How are you celebrating Mother’s Day this year? Drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know. I’d love to hear!
Happy Mother’s Day!
