Hi everyone, my name is Sally Holtgrieve. I’m the senior editor at Women in Retail Leadership Circle and Women Leading Travel & Hospitality (sister brand of WIRLC).
I love meeting people, hearing their stories, and learning something new every day. Being passionate about the purpose of my work is important to me, so I’m honored to be part of a team that helps empower female leaders!
I kept a slip of paper I obtained courtesy a fortune cookie pinned to my desk for years: “People who want to appear clever rely on memory. People who want to get things done make lists.” Grand, widespread success is the result of thoughtful, detailed planning. Putting time and energy into organizing your goals and creating a step-by-step action plan for how to achieve them has proven to be a worthwhile investment. Getting feedback is always ideal, especially when it’s from an expert. These truths apply to day-to-day tasks at work, but they also apply to our careers as a whole.
Throughout the upcoming Women in Retail Leadership Days event, we will be offering our first-ever virtual “Coaches Corner,” during which our certified career coaches will offer 10 hours to 15 total hours of free coaching over the duration of the event. Attendees will have access to 30-minute sessions with these amazing women. Think of how much planning and honing in on your goals you can accomplish together! That’s the same amount of time it takes to watch many TV shows, except you’ll be doing the opposite of passively watching someone else’s story.
Keep your narratives bold, stars!
