In our monthly peer group calls, Women in Retail Leadership Circle (WIRLC) members have been talking through their strategies and concerns during this uncertain time and discussing how they plan to lead their teams in person, completely virtually, or within a hybrid environment. They’re also preparing for what some are predicting will be the great resignation in September for those employees who are demanding companies change old policies and provide different opportunities and benefits, such as the ability to work remotely.

To help get a better understanding of how companies across both the retail and travel and hospitality industries are planning for the return of employees to corporate offices, sister brands WIRLC and Women Leading Travel & Hospitality launched the Back-to-Office Report, which features survey data and analysis on a myriad of back-to-office topics. For example, the report includes data on leaders’ concerns with hybrid work schedules, including the impact they might have on employee communication and corporate culture. And, of course, what such an arrangement means for employee productivity.

As you and your company go about the challenging task of safely bringing employees back into corporate offices, leverage the data featured in this report to inform that strategy. This report and its accompanying checklist offer actionable tips as well as insights that can enable businesses to thrive in this new work environment we’re all experiencing.

Access the report here and let us know what you’re seeing in your own companies! In addition, one of the sessions at the upcoming Women in Retail Leadership Summit will also tackle this topic. The panel discussion, “Leading in the ‘Next Normal,'” will feature insights from:

  • Sharonda Weatherspoon, Senior Vice President, Stores and Co-Chair for Diversity and Inclusion, Ralph Lauren
  • Brynn Evanson, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, The Michaels Companies, Inc.
  • Sarah Engel, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief People Officer, January Digital
  • Phyllis Marcus, Partner, Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP (Moderator)

See you in October!
