It can be challenging to be a leader sometimes.

Leaders spend all day long helping others and offering ideas, but they often don’t have someone to turn to for advice on business issues or guidance around how they can do better. That’s why professional peer groups can be lifesavers for business leaders. These groups bring leaders together to regularly discuss challenges, pursue goals, and share knowledge. With help from other business leaders within the Women in Retail Leadership Circle, peer group members can broaden perspectives, learn from peers who have overcome similar challenges, establish a trusted network of support, gain greater self-awareness and confidence in leadership skills, and so much more.

It’s for these reasons that peer groups are such an important part of Women in Retail Leadership Circle membership, and also why we’re enhancing our peer group program to better accommodate all of our members’ needs.

Starting in January, our peer groups will meet quarterly and be grouped by job function to ensure the right leaders are connecting with their appropriate peers. Those job functions include the following:

  • Enterprise CEO/President
  • HR/Legal/Finance
  • Marketing/Creative/PR
  • Merchandising
  • Operations
  • SMB Leaders
  • Technology/Digital

Members will receive automatic calendar invites to each call, which will continue to be held on Zoom. The peer groups will also move to noon ET to better accommodate our members across the country. We’re also seeking members to lead the peer group discussions each quarter. If you have any questions or are interested in becoming a peer group leader, please contact Marie Albiges at malbiges@napco.com.

And of course, if you would like to join one of these peer groups, become a member of Women in Retail Leadership Circle! You can find more information about membership here.

Happy peer networking!
