In the closing keynote of last year’s Women in Retail Leadership Days virtual experience, author and speaker Brit Barron shared some personal stories featured in her new book, “Worth It,” about her journey to overcoming fear. She encouraged and inspired attendees to overcome their own fears that may be keeping them from evolving.

In this clip from her presentation, Barron explained that she always thought fear was the opposite of bravery and courage. “It took me a long time and a lot of my life to figure out that fear is not the opposite of bravery,” said Barron. “Fear is not the opposite, of course, it’s the start of it.”

Barron elaborated that by allowing ourselves to feel fear, we allow ourselves to feel bravery as a result.
