Tammy Berentson, chief marketing officer of FreshDirect, was interviewed at this month’s Women in Retail and Total Retail Virtual Exchange. The wide-ranging discussion touched on topics related to business strategy, leadership, and executive professional development. In this clip from the session, Berentson addresses how she tries to achieve work-life balance (admittedly not her strongest skill).

“This year aside, balance is just about incremental change,” said Berentson. “After a couple of months at home at the beginning of the pandemic, I came back to the office and I’ve been here. For me, that was better for my soul than being at home, only because we had so much going on here and for the CEO to have to reach out and find me was difficult. So the management team agreed to stay on board and work through this together. That presented an interesting challenge for my husband and my family, and they took it on.”
