Even though it may not seem like it in the moment, the challenges we face in our professional lives almost always end us helping us or making us stronger.

This was a key point made by Kara Goldin, founder and CEO of Hint, and author of the best-selling book, “Undaunted: Overcoming Doubts and Doubters,” during her keynote conversation earlier this month at Women in Retail Leadership Days, a month-long virtual celebration of women retail leaders.

“I’m a huge believer that challenging times actually help us, eventually,” Goldin told the virtual audience. “We may not know why they were placed in our lives, but they help us to be more resilient and stronger.”

This is just a snippet of what Goldin discussed with session moderator Jennifer DiPasquale, president and co-founder of Women in Retail Leadership Circle. Goldin, for example, detailed how and why she started Hint, how she overcame imposter syndrome, and why she wrote her book.
