Hello Inner Circle readers! Today’s opener is all about books! What do I mean by that?

  • Women in Retail Leadership Circle has officially launched a book club! Hooray! Here’s the story: When the Women in Retail Leadership Summit concluded, we received many requests for the titles of all of the books discussed on stage at the event. While we sent around a list of most of the book titles and authors to everyone who requested them, due to the overwhelming interest, we thought it might be fun to start a book club as a forum to discuss these books and others we love! Here’s the link to WIRLC’s Book Club on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wirleadership. You’ll be able to find WIRLC Book Club videos in our Instagram Stories each week, and watch all of the archives in our Book Club story highlight on WIRLC’s profile. We want you to be involved in the Book Club as well! Send us any book recommendations you would like to share by emailing me at mcampanelli@napco.com or posting a message on our Instagram page.
  • More book news: Are you interested in sharing your personal story in a book, and in turn make a positive impact on the professional lives of other women? If so, reach out to Christine Buscarino, chief marketing officer, Dale Carnegie Training, the professional training company named after Dale Carnegie, the author of the best-selling book “How to Win Friends and Influence People.” Christine, who is a WIRLC member, told us that while Dale Carnegie Training recognizes the value of the famous book (written in 1936) and the impact it has had on many individuals, the organization also realizes times have changed. Therefore, Dale Carnegie Training, wants to start sharing updated stories told by and written by professional women. Would you like to share your story in a new version of the best-seller? If so, please reach out to Christine at Christine.buscarino@dalecarnegie.com. She would be thrilled to hear from you!
  • We’re still “booking” travel for Total Retail’s Total Retail Tech event, taking place Sept. 23-25 in Philadelphia (men and women). The complimentary, all-inclusive event is designed for retailers and brands looking to vet new technologies. We cover everything for you — travel, hotel, meals, etc. There are a very limited number of seats left for Total Retail Tech. If you’re interested in attending, please fill out the application here.
