I thought I would open today’s e-newsletter with a quick check-in to make sure you’re all doing OK. I know many of you are still in thick of COVID-19 madness, and as such there’s a lot of anxiety around managing your day-to-day lives as well as your career and/or team. Some of you have lost jobs or had partners lose jobs, and that can be scary.

Therefore, I thought I would let you know that you’re all doing amazing and you can do whatever you set your mind to! Sometimes you just need a reminder. I also wanted you to know that we here at Women in Retail Leadership Circle are focused on supporting you as best we can, and that it’s been a privilege to engage with you (virtually) during this crazy time.

Events to Put On Your Calendar

I wanted to make you aware of two really great events coming up that I believe would be well worth your time.

  • The next installment of the Women in Retail and Total Retail Virtual Exchange is set to take place on Wed., Aug. 26. The complimentary virtual event will feature interviews with Marla Beck, CEO and co-founder, Bluemercury; Kelly M. Cook, executive vice president, chief marketing and IT officer, David’s Bridal; Amy Errett, CEO and founder, Madison Reed; Kim Lefko, senior vice president, chief marketing officer, Ace Hardware; and others. You can register for the event here!
  • We’re so excited about our upcoming Women in Retail Leadership Days virtual event. It will be a one-of-a-kind virtual event designed specifically to connect women retail leaders. Throughout October, attendees will have access to an exciting roster of experiences, including inspiring keynote presentations, interviews with leading retail executives, on-topic panel discussions, professional development workshops, targeted peer-to-peer virtual meetups, unique networking opportunities, fun activations, and more. We have some great speakers lined up, including Diane von Furstenberg; Sharon Leite, CEO, Vitamin Shoppe; Corie Barry, CEO, Best Buy; Christine Currence, president and owner, Badgley Mischka; and more. There will be more information to come on the Women in Retail Leadership Days event, but for now I wanted to get it on your radar.
