We always love when we hear about cool new things our members our doing. So when we heard that Nina Alexander-Hurst, Women in Retail Leadership Circle board member and vice president of brand marketing at fashion jewelry retailer BaubleBar, was involved in a cool partnership, we reached out to her to learn more.

BaubleBar and FoodKick by FreshDirect, an on-demand business that delivers a curated selection of fresh food, alcohol and essentials to consumers, have partnered to deliver style on demand. Under the two-week partnership, FoodKick will deliver summer essentials to customers designed for last-minute happy hours and spontaneous weekend getaways, such as fresh food, cold booze and, yes, on-trend jewelry, in as little as an hour. This partnership marks the first time that FoodKick is carrying fashion accessories, marking its foray into an emerging new category.

“We loved that FoodKick wasn’t just focusing on delivering food, but instead thought about delivering an experience,” Alexander-Hurst told us. “What do you need to make tonight special with your significant other? Bubbly, locally made cheeses, dessert from the newest donut shop, and the perfect accessory to complete your look! Why not let her get the items she needs for dinner and also grab something special to wear tonight, too?”

BaubleBar loves testing new ways to sell its products, seeing if channels resonate with the retailer’s customers and/or potential customers.

“We know the FoodKick customer loves trends based on what she’s buying on its app — and she wants to get items quickly,” says Alexander-Hurst. “Why wouldn’t she want to pick up something for herself while getting the essentials? To us, it’s about meeting our customer — whether new or existing — where she is and helping her look great.”

The two-week partnership between BaubleBar and FoodKick kicks off with the launch of a curated collection of six patriotic-themed earrings and necklaces handpicked specifically for FoodKick customers. All items are available for under $50. Leading up to the July 4th weekend and while supplies last, BaubleBar customers will be able to order patriotic baubles, treats and spirits for their summer celebrations on FoodKick’s website and app for delivery in as little as an hour. To celebrate the partnership kickoff, now while supplies last every FoodKick order will come with a $15 gift card to use on BaubleBar.com.

Go Nina!
