Matilda Kalaveshi

After transitioning into the buying world from a career in international fashion, Matilda Kalaveshi joined Macy’s Inc where she focused on the business side of the fashion retail world. For the past 17 years, Kalaveshi has worked for numerous retailers in the southeast region and has held different positions such as fashion buyer, planner, senior buyer, fashion director, and consultant. Currently Matilda runs her own retail consulting boutique where she helps brands and retailers build and grow profitable businesses.

At a local level, Kalaveshi is the Downtown NEWS Business Correspondent. She focuses on retail news, consumer trends, e-commerce, emerging brands, new retail developments, and more.

Additionally, Matilda teaches the business of fashion at Istituto Marangoni Miami and Miami Fashion Institute at Miami Dade College. Her ultimate goal is to prepare the students to navigate the multi-faceted world of retail by bridging the gap between fashion and business.
